The Polar expressDate:COLDWATER, MI— “The Polar Express” is chugging into town on Sat. Dec. 5 and there is only one place to see it—Tibbits! Enjoy a wonderful way to spend a holiday evening together as a family, watching the movie which is quickly becoming a Christmas favorite. It’s the tale of a young boy on Christmas Eve who is swept off his feet and taken on the train ride of a lifetime. He along with other youngsters makes the trip to the North Pole. Make the movie night special by enjoying the ambiance of the historic theatre, some popcorn, and Tibbits’ 18 foot screen. The movie is sponsored by Edward Jones Financial Advisors Greg Bruder, Tracy Kelley and Jay Wright. The movie begins at 7:30 and tickets are $2 to the general public at the door. Edward Jones’ guests should bring their invitations. “The Polar Express” is the perfect conclusion of the Downtown Coldwater Christmas Fest which begins with the Christmas parade downtown and includes open houses at many of the stores, Santaland, strolling entertainment, the Historic Home Tour which includes tours of the Tibbits Opera House and the Christmas Wassail at the Wing House. The story by Chris Van Allsburg, who makes his living as a sculptor, won the prestigious Caldecott Medal in 1986. It’s endearing message, “believe,” has quickly made it a holiday favorite.
