Press Release

Doo Wop Auditions

Date:1/06/2010

COLDWATER, MI—

“Doo Wop Wed Widing Hood” may be difficult to say three times fast but it is not difficult to predict that this musical promises to be a huge hit!

Set in “Fairy tale time,” it showcases characters like Little Red Riding Hood along with her athletic sister Big Green Riding Hood. There is a king, a queen, a dragon and a not-so-typical grandmother along with plenty of other fun roles!

Auditions are set from 4 pm to 6 pm, Friday, Jan. 15 and from 10 am to noon on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010 at Tibbits. These auditions are for students in grades fourth through eighth grade only. Auditionees are asked to bring a current, non-returnable photo.

The musical is directed by Lois Voss who is looking for about 40 students to fill the cast.

“We are looking for energetic, lively children who are willing to donate some time and energy into creating a great show,” Voss said.

At auditions students are asked to sing a song. Any simple song like “Row Row Row Your Boat” or “Happy Birthday” will do according to Voss. “This way we can get idea of how everyone sings,” Voss said.

Show dates are March 19 and 20, 2010 at Tibbits.

“Doo Wop Wed Widing Hood” is written by Charlie Lovett with music and lyrics by Bill Francoeur.  It is produced by special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Service, Inc., Englewood, Colorado.

Auditions are at Tibbits, 14 S. Hanchett St., Coldwater. For more information visit the web site at www.Tibbits.org or call 517-278-6029.
