Tibbits - So much more than a Theatre

Press Release

Backstage passes

Date:  06/15/2009

COLDWATER, MI—

Children will have the opportunity to go backstage and see first hand how a Popcorn Theatre production is created when they sign up for the Backstage Pass event scheduled for the June 27th production of  “The Sword in the Stone.”

On that Saturday, Backstage Pass participants only will receive VIP passes and early entrance to the Popcorn Theatre production to observe pre-performance activities. They will then be escorted to prime seating reserved for Backstage Pass (BP) patrons where they will watch the play.

Tibbits Artistic Director Charles Burr will give a short introduction on what the BP participants will see: the play, background, and observe the tech and actors prep the stage and themselves for the performance.

The star treatment continues immediately after the performance when the Backstage Tour will begin with the crew/actors/director. Actors will give a post talk just for the BP children followed by a question/answer segment for about ½ hour. Children are allowed to go on stage and there will be individual photos and personalized autographs with actors.

After the tour, the special pass provides a brown bag lunch only to BP participants in the lower level art gallery. After lunch, the fun continues when unique goodie bags will be distributed to the BP participants.

Reservations are required for this unique, fun event. Please call the Tibbits box office 517-278-6029 for more information or reservations.  Tickets are only $18 which includes the $7 ticket admission, lunch, popcorn, juice, backstage tour and personalized autographs and photos with the cast and crew.

“The Sword in the Stone” is graciously sponsored by Allegis Credit Union.
