Tibbits Young Audiences – Auditions for “If the Shoe Fits”

August 24 & 25, 5pm at the Tibbits * Open to all students grades 4-8 (Show to be presented October 20-22, 2017)

Contact: Tirsha, 517-278-6029,

“If the Shoe Fits” is a modern twist of the story of Cinderella, written by Karen Woodford.  Prince Owen, from the Kingdom of Kravitz, is ready to go to college and study computers, but instead he must attend his graduation ball and choose a bride.  All of the eligible girls in the kingdom will be there, including the Royal Fan Club.  Audiences will be entertained as they see if Prince Owen will marry Cinderella, who just wants to study music and flee her evil stepmother’s house, or if the wicked Valda and the Python Gang will succeed in kidnapping the prince and replacing him with a mechanical duplicate.

Students should be accompanied by a parent or guardian and bring a current, non-returnable photo. Students will be asked to introduce themselves from stage and read parts from the script. The cast list will be posted on the Tibbits website on Monday, Aug. 28, with rehearsals beginning Tuesday, Aug. 29. Rehearsals will be held Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, but not all roles meet all days. The show will be presented Oct. 20 and 21 at 7 pm and Oct. 22 at 2 pm at Tibbits.

“If the Shoe Fits” will be directed by Jayne Lillis and produced by Tirsha Odisher. Approximately 35-40 students will be cast. Students involved will learn characterization, blocking, costuming, makeup and all aspects of a stage production.
