All are welcome to attend Jason T. Edwards’ Colonel Promotion Ceremony, which will begin at 11am. A reception will immediately follow in the lower level.
Colonel Jason T. Edwards, a native of Coldwater, Michigan is a United States Army Officer assigned as a National Security Fellow at Harvard University, John F. Kennedy School of Government. COL Edwards was selected to serve as the Installation Commander, Rheinland Pfalz, Germany beginning in July 2018. Prior to his fellowship he served as the Branch Chief, Enlisted Distribution, Army Human Resources Command, Fort Knox, Kentucky. COL Edwards commanded the Division Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, GA and deployed to Bagram, Afghanistan to provide leadership for the United States Forces – Afghanistan / Combined Joint Task Force-3 Command Element in 2014-2015. Prior to his command tour he served as the Branch Chief, J1 Plans, Readiness, and Exercises in United States Pacific Command, Camp Smith, Hawaii and deployed to Japan in support of Operation Tomodachi to facilitate recovery operations after the 2011 tsunami and subsequent nuclear disaster. COL Edwards also has additional deployments to Afghanistan, Kuwait, Kosovo and Albania. COL Edwards holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Central Michigan in Political Science, a Master’s Degree from Central Michigan in Public Administration, and is a graduate of the United States Army Command and General Staff College. COL Edwards has numerous awards and decorations to include the Combat Infantryman’s Badge, Expert Infantryman’s Badge, Ranger Tab, Senior Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge and the German Parachutist Badge. COL Edwards has been married for 21 years to his wife Jackie from Ann Arbor, Michigan and has two children: Willem (11) and Zanna (7) both born in Hawaii. The Edwards Family currently resides on Hanscom Air Force Base, Massachusetts.
