THE CIRCUS COMES TO TOWN WITH CIRQUE AMONGUS!

COLDWATER – A surprising combination of comedy, circus skills and audience participation will delight young and old when Cirque Amongus comes to Tibbits as part of Popcorn Theatre July 20 & 21 at 10am.

This circus-style performance incorporates fundamental circus arts: juggling, movement, and balance creating an exciting and unforgettable experience. This high-energy show appeals to kids and adults alike, and patrons will be treated to free popcorn and juice at intermission. Along with the performances, kids can continue the fun with an hour-long workshop  at 1pm on July 21, which will allow up to 100 kids a full hands-on circus experience.

Sem and Teresa Abrahams started Cirque Amongus, a Circus Arts-based education enrichment company out of Livonia, Mi in 2001. They met 35 years ago at unicycle competitions and even got married on unicycles. They now teach circus arts at many schools, libraries, fairs, and festivals, mainly in the midwest area. The Abrahams have performed all over the world and on national television.  Nash, their 12 year old son, has been performing and traveling with them everywhere possible since he was an infant. This past year Nash has paved his own way individually performing on NBC’s ‘Little Big Shots’ with Steve Harvey. He also traveled to Norway to perform at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert along side of John Legend, Lukas Graham and other great artists.

This show is sponsored by the generous support of the Edward Jones agencies of Tracy Kelley, Jay Wright and Michael Hanson. The popcorn is donated by Ed Lake. The juice is donated by McDonald’s: The Maynard Organization. Popcorn Theatre is made possible through the generosity of Dr. Jon and Seibra Herbener with additional support by the Tibbits Endowment for Children’s Programming. This program is also funded in part by the Michigan Council for Arts and Culture Affairs as well as the Michigan Humanities Council.
