Irene Grimes Butdorf
(December 18, 1934 – November 15, 2022)
“We are such stuff as dreams are made on
And our little life is rounded with a sleep.”
~William Shakespeare
Irene Grimes enjoyed a love and commitment to theatre and the arts. She nurtured this love through her involvement with Branch County Community Theatre as well as Tibbits Opera Foundation & Arts Council, Inc.
Her role on stage with Tibbits Summer Theatre dates back to 1980. She performed as an extra and filled small roles starting with Carousel and The King and I that first summer and joined the summer company for a total of 15 shows between those first performances and Camelot in 2002. The rest of the year she actively participated in more shows with Branch County Community Theatre than we can track.
In appreciation for the time she shared with Tibbits Opera House
and the entire community,
Tibbits Opera Foundation and Arts Council
salutes the memory of Irene Grimes-Butdorf.
Irene, the ghost light shines on stage for you & all who have shared their spirit with Tibbits.
A visitation and memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov 19. Details and the full obituary can be found HERE.
