Call to Artists, Downtown Businesses, and Marketplace Vendors for the 2018 Spring ArtWalk
COLDWATER – Arts Alive and the Coldwater Area Chamber of Commerce are currently looking for artists, downtown businesses, and marketplace vendors for the 2018 Spring ArtWalk on Friday, June 8.
Fine artists are paired up with businesses and their work will be on display from 5-8pm the night of ArtWalk. From makeup artists, sculptors, painters, photographers and more, all mediums of art are welcome and encouraged. Artists should send samples of their work to artsalivecw@gmail.com to be considered by the committee. There will be cash prizes of $100, $50 and $75 awarded by people’s choice penny votes.
Downtown businesses are asked to provide their location as a stop to host artists, a $50 donation toward advertising costs and artist prize money, and light appetizers or beverages the night of the event. If businesses have a specific artist in mind that they’d like to host, they can send that contact information to artsalivecw@gmail.com.
“We want the ArtWalk to grow, so we’re making some fun, new changes and additions this year, including food trucks, closing down Hanchett St. in front of Tibbits and having a street party with the Dog Bone Blues Band, and more. We’re really hoping that we can get all downtown businesses involved, as well as a huge variety of artists and marketplace artisans,” said Arts Alive member Stephanie Burdick.
Finally, “The Marketplace” is back again, which will provide an opportunity for local artisans to sell their locally made/grown artisanal goods. This will showcase what is local and can be a great starting point for marketplace vendors before the Farmer’s Market begins. There is a $25 fee/booth. Download the marketplace form under the Events Tab for ArtWalk at facebook.com/ArtsAliveColdwater/.
