Tibbits Popcorn Theatre PR – Beauty & the Beast‏

Popcorn Theatre – “Beauty and the Beast” opens July 5

COLDWATER, Mich. – Tibbits presents the second show of its Popcorn Theatre season “Beauty and the Beast,” July 5, 11 and 12 at Tibbits Opera House in Coldwater.

The familiar fairy tale brings plenty of humor and theatrical magic to enchant audiences. This version written by Charles Burr and Bobb James stays close to the original French story written more than 250 years ago, rather than the recent Disney version.

A young girl, Belle played by Lindsey Dakota learns about the power of love and how the heart can see beyond the surface. The Beast played by Jonah Kramer also learns a lesson of love and humility as he falls under an enchantment of a fairy whom he has mistreated. Also in the cast are TJ Besler, Allison Canning, Nasia Thomas and Tyler Whiteman.

The presentation is sponsored by Great lakes Chiropractic. Popcorn Theatre’s live, professional performances have been entertaining audiences and introducing live theatre to the youngest of theatre-goers for generations. Popcorn Theatre is made possible through the generosity of Dr. Jon and Seibra Herbener and Dr. Nichole Ellis.

“Beauty and the Beast” performances are at 10 a.m. Tickets are $7, and include popcorn and juice at intermission. Popcorn is donated by Dr. Ed Lake and Dr. Yound Yoon and juice is donated by McDonald’s of Branch and Hillsdale Counties. Tickets are available at www.Tibbits.org, by phone at 517-278-6029 or at 14 South Hanchett Street, Coldwater.
