A little bit of mayhem is on its way to Tibbits Opera House as the historic venue will screen Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem on Saturday, January 18, at 5pm, with a pizza party starting at 4pm.
After years of being sheltered from the human world, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers through their heroic acts. But they soon get in over their heads when an army of mutants is unleashed upon them. Come to Tibbits Opera House on January 18 to watch these heroes in a half-shell rise to the occasion!
Enjoy more than a movie! Just like the Ninja Turtles themselves, have some pizza before the film gets underway with a special pizza party starting at 4pm! Entry for the pizza party will be $5 at the door, and a cash bar will be available. COLDWATER – Building on the success of this year’s Cultural Jubilee: A Gathering of Neighbors, plans are underway for next year’s event, and organizers are inviting vendors, sponsors, and volunteers to get involved.
Scheduled for May 17 from 11 AM to 3 PM, the event will once again take place in downtown Coldwater in Tibbits Plaza and South Hanchett Street. The Coldwater Community Center will be taking the lead, with support from various local businesses. The day will be filled with cultural displays, activities, and community engagement, culminating in a meaningful Unity Walk to foster togetherness among neighbors.
Cultural Jubile will return next year on May 17, 2025, with cultural exhibits, activities, and a Unity Walk.
This year’s Cultural Jubilee received significant support from the Coldwater Township Sunrise Rotary, one of the event’s sponsors. Looking ahead, Tibbits Executive Director Christine Delaney stated, ‘We are thrilled to bring the Cultural Jubilee back for another year. The event celebrates our rich cultural diversity and aims to create a welcoming environment for everyone in our community.’

Sage succeeds Chad Tallon, who serves as Interim Artistic Director for the 2024 Tibbits Summer Theatre season. Currently directing “Rent”, Sage brings a wealth of experience and a distinguished artistic vision that promises to enrich the theatre’s legacy.
“My relationship with Tibbits Summer Theatre began in the summer of 1994 as an actor and has continued into the present day,” said Brian Sage. “While this 30-year journey hasn’t been consecutive, Tibbits has been my artistic anchor, shaping my aesthetic and fostering my growth as both actor and director.”
Sage is a seasoned professional in the theatre industry, holding an MFA in Acting from Wayne State University and a BA in Theatre Performance from Western Michigan University. His career spans a diverse range of theatrical genres, from classical to contemporary musical theatre. Sage has earned acclaim at esteemed regional theatres such as Tipping Point Theatre and The Encore Musical Theatre Company, garnering multiple nominations for the prestigious Wilde Awards.

With memberships in Actor’s Equity Association and certification with the Society of American Fight Directors, Scheidler enriches the theatrical landscape of the region.

His extensive professional engagements, including collaborations with esteemed institutions like Alabama Shakespeare Festival and New York City Opera, underscore his stature as a luminary in the theatre world. Having cut his teeth in the theatrical realm during his high school years with Tibbits, Scheidler’s triumphant return speaks volumes about the enduring allure of the cherished institution. Notably, his last performance on the Tibbits stage was in “Biloxi Blues” in 1993, alongside Peter Riopelle and Brenda Sparks, shortly after their graduation from WMU.
Reflecting on his recent stint at Tibbits, Scheidler remarked, “It was wonderful being a part of the Tibbits summer stock season again! I love this space—it is the most beautiful theatre I’ve ever performed in and holds deep personal significance for me. Having spent many summers here throughout my middle and high school years, it truly feels like coming home. The opportunity to help stage some fight scenes for ‘Sweeney Todd’ was a treat, especially collaborating with old friends like Mychelle, Brenda, and Paul. I had a great time figuring out blood effects and staging with the director and cast. And I got to walk out on the stage almost every day and see the house, that chandelier, and the fly system that just says ‘home’ to me.”
