THE SHOW WILL GO ON–but we have to adapt again. All performances of A Popped Potpourri will now be held at The Ponds in Coldwater, just minutes from Tibbits Opera House. We had expected the governor’s order restricting theatres from opening to have been lifted. Our apologies for the inconvenience.
Your ticket will be automatically transferred to the new location. The Ponds offers a secluded, sheltered outdoor setting with both space for social distancing and privacy to enjoy an intimate performance. Masks are still encouraged.
There is plenty of parking available and golf carts will be available to help transport patrons to the pavilion where the performance will take place.
The Thursday performance will remain at 6pm. The Friday performance is now a 2pm matinee, and the Saturday shows are now rolled into one 10am performance. Friday evening tickets will be automatically transferred to the matinee and Saturday tickets will automatically transfer to the 10am performance. If you would prefer to change your tickets to another performance time, please let the box office know.
This one is for everyone who loves our traditional Tibbits Popcorn Theatre productions. We are offering a big cornucopia of fun—a grand mix of family-friendly fare to delight both young and old theatre-goers.
Along with a musical portion featuring songs from favorite kids’ movies, Tibbits’ company members will bring an adaptation of “Cinderella” and Aesop’s Fables including “The Lion and the Mouse,” ” The Tortoise and the Hare” and “The Ant and the Grasshopper” to life on stage.
For good variety, there will even be a few classic cartoon shorts shown on the big screen, including:
Water Water Every Hare
A sudden rainstorm floods Bugs Bunny’s rabbit hole and puts him in the path of an Evil Scientist and of Rudolph, a beast that is covered in orange fur and shod in sneakers.
The Abominable Snow Rabbit
Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck run into the abominable snowman in the Himalayas.
How to Play Baseball
Goofy demonstrates how to play baseball. He plays all positions for both teams, and demonstrates many different types of pitches.
The Hockey Champ
Donald shows his nephews Huey, Dewey, & Louie the moves that won him his hockey trophy, but the boys have a few moves of their own.
We are practicing social distancing, including adding Plexiglas at points of sale and taking additional cleaning steps to ensure the safety of our patrons and staff.
We encourage those who are able to wear a mask.
