“It Started With Eve” Closes Tibbits Summer Theatre Season

Coldwater- Capping off its outdoor summer theatre season, Tibbits Summer Theatre offers a never-before produced treat with “It Started With Eve,” a night of four one-act plays Aug 27-29.
All four plays look at relationships in different stages, taking a very distinct view on dating and married life and how to interact with the opposite sex. “It Started With Eve” is a compilation of plays that begins with the progression of the first couple—Adam and Eve—in a comical adaptation of Mark Twain’s short story “The Diaries of Adam and Eve.” Act two includes three shorter pieces that look at more modern relationships: the light-hearted “Here We Are” by Dorothy Parker, the witty “A Matter of Husbands” by Ferenc Molnar, and the comical “Sure Thing” by David Ives.
Tibbits Artistic Director Charles Burr stated, “We have never done one acts in the professional summer theatre season before. There’s some great writing as I think this group of four diverse plays will attest.”
Tibbits Summer Theatre’s core group of professional company members from across the United States will include veteran Tibbits actors Stephanie Burdick, Bailey Kote, Michael Motkowski, and Matthew C. Scott. The production will be directed by Charles Burr. The design staff features lights by Bryce Dansby, set design by Leon Kriser, costume design by Dusti Donbrock, and sound design by Weston Felker, with Rachel Marengere as stage manager.
The 2020 TST Season that concludes with “It Started With Eve” is presented through the generous sponsorship support of Coldwater Board of Public Utilities; Parrish Excavating, Inc.; and Frederick Family Dental.
