Kids Art Rocks!
Tibbits Boosters’ Kids Art Rocks! Ready for 9th Year
Eighteen pieces of artwork by first-grade through high school age artists from schools throughout Branch County will have their work on display at the ninth annual Kids Art Rocks! Open House on June 9, from 5:30 to 7:30, in the Tibbits lower level. The art will remain on display until mid-July when it will be taken to local businesses and professional offices for the year.
Matting and frames that complement the artwork were ordered by Ruth Scheidler and Cristy Nagle in April. They will supervise the other committee members in the process of matting and framing each piece of art.
The open house will be held in conjunction with the Arts Alive Spring Art Walk. Typically, over 80 parents, family members, teachers, and members of the public attend the event, with a number of individuals and local businesses leasing each piece to display for a year at an $80 fee. This fee pays for the frames and matting materials as each artist is able to keep the framed art at the end of the lease year.
This past year’s artwork is presently on display at the Village Of Bronson office, CHC Obstetrics & Gynecology PC, Hathaway Agency, Inc., Bronson, Matthew C. Christopher DDS, Coldwater and Union City offices, Nutrition Expression, Prompt Care Express, P.C., Southern Michigan Bank & Trust, Sturgis Bank & Trust, Bronson, Family Dental Home, Quincy, Gary F. Werkman, DDS, the Village of Quincy office, and Ponderosa Steak House.
The artwork will remain there until mid-July when it will be returned to the Tibbits office. The artists will be notified when their work is ready for pick up. If they are unable to pick up their work, it will be returned to the school. Questions about the program may be directed to Stan or Judy Bushouse at (517) 278-4348.
