COLDWATER – Experience the bands and music of one of popular music’s pivotal events as Magic Bus rolls into Coldwater on Saturday, January 26 at Tibbits Opera House. The concert relives an era with its modern tribute to Woodstock.
Voted “#1 Local Band in Southeastern Michigan” by WDIV’s “Vote 4 the Best” competition in both 2011 and 2012, “Best of Detroit” by Detroit Hour magazine, and nominated in the Detroit Music Awards category: “Outstanding Live Performance,” Magic Bus will undoubtedly give a show to remember. Nowadays in the music industry, artists have become so accustomed to sudden change that Magic Bus is one of a few groups bold enough to still attempt songs from the “Woodstock” genre. Then again, why wouldn’t you? These are the songs that Americans all know and love; the ones playing in the background of all the greatest movies. These songs are part of the foundation of modern-day music.
The late 60s was a period of cultural change in America and Magic Bus offers a unique opportunity for people of that generation to reminisce on the music scene that was part of their early lives. At the same time other generations can experience one of the moments “that changed the history of rock and roll.” As one presenter stated, “Their songs from the late 60s were so polished in their presentation that it was equivalent to having booked 20 original bands directly from that era!”
Tibbits presentation of Magic Bus is sponsored by Infinisource. The national company has operations in Coldwater, North Carolina and Utah. It is a major provider of human capital management solutions and provides industry-leading technology and expertise that empowers people and companies to do their best work. The company sets a priority on being an integral part of the community and locally has supported United Way, Relay for Life, American Heart Association, the local food pantry as well as Tibbits.
The concert, complete with a cash bar offering beer and wine, will be an event to remember. It culminates a day of celebration as downtown Coldwater celebrates its annual Ice Festival, complete with homemade chili and soup tasting, children’s activities and featured Ice Sculptor: Randy Finch, the Ice Guru star of the Food Network show “Ice Brigade.”
The Magic Bus concert begins at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $24 for adults, $15 for students and $21 for Tibbits members. Tickets are available on line at www.Tibbits.org , by phone at 517-278-6029, or weekdays at the business office at 93 West Chicago St. The performance is held at the historic Tibbits Opera House, 14 South Hanchett Street, Coldwater, MI.
