Mariachi Music, Flamenco Dancers & Battle Sounds Part of Cinco de Mayo Celebration
COLDWATER – Saturday’s Cinco de Mayo celebration filled Tibbits Opera House with mariachi music, stomping feet of flamenco dancers, battle sounds from the film dramatization of the Battle of Pueblo, as well as flags and beautiful instrumental sounds from across the Latin nations.
With support of the Michigan Humanities Council, Altrusa International of Branch County and the Branch County Community Foundation, the events were offered free to the community. Competing against beautiful weather and a number of other events in the community, the event still offered an opportunity to learn and share this important culture within our community.
