11-15-2017
HOLIDAY CHEER IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER WITH THE TIBBITS CLASSIC FILM SERIES!
COLDWATER – On Saturday, November 25 at 7pm, the Tibbits Classic Film Series will offer up some early Christmas cheer with the 1947 Christmas staple, Miracle on 34th Street and the Bing Crosby & Fred Astaire song and dance gem, Holiday Inn.
Miracle on 34th Street is the story of Doris Walker, a no-nonsense Macy’s executive, who desperately searches for a new store Santa. She hires Kris Kringle who insists that he’s the real Santa Claus, but he has many skeptics like Doris and her especially hard-to-convince six-year- old daughter, Susan. So Kris goes to court to try and prove it. Is he the real Santa Claus? Miracle on 34th Street stars Edmund Gwenn, Maureen O’Hara, and John Payne.
The second feature of the night will be Holiday Inn, starring Bing Crosby & Fred Astaire. Crosby plays a song and dance man who leaves showbiz to run an inn that is open only on holidays. Astaire plays his former partner and rival in love. Follow the two talented pals as they find themselves competing for the affections of the same lovely lady played by Marjorie Reynolds. ‘Tis the season for one of the most enjoyable films of all time!
