ROBOTS AND THE PYTHON GANG: CINDERELLA HAS BIGGER PROBLEMS THAN FITTING INTO A GLASS SLIPPER
COLDWATER – Tibbits Young Audiences continues to offer classic fairy tales told with a modern and comedic twist as they begin production on their fall play If the Shoe Fits, opening October 20 at 7:00pm at the Tibbits Opera House.
Prince Owen is depressed. He’s ready to go to college and study computers (after all, the Kingdom of Kravitz is the only kingdom without a web page!), but tradition dictates that he attend a ball in honor of his graduation and choose a bride. All the eligible girls in the kingdom will be there, including the Royal Fan Club. Will the prince marry Cinderella, who just wants to get away from her wicked stepmother’s house and study music? Or will the evil Valda be successful in taking over the kingdom by kidnapping the prince, replacing him with a robot and programming it to choose her daughter Varina as his bride? With a king who’s a stickler for tradition, a town crier who hates her job, and a fairy godmother straight from the employment agency, things do not look good for Prince Owen.
If the Shoe Fits is written by Performer/Director Karen Woodford, is directed by Jayne Lillis and produced by Tirsha Odisher. “We are having a lot of fun at rehearsals and the cast is working very hard to bring the community a great show. They are an awesome group of young people!” said Lillis. If the Shoe Fits is sponsored by The Coldwater Kiwanis Club.
