Tibbits offers performances for schools

Students in preschool, kindergarten and first grade will experience live theatre and the delightful tales of “Owl’s Winter” as Wild Swan Theater presents the opening show of Tibbits’ school programming series.
“Owl’s Winter” is a collection of wintery stories bases on “Owl at Home” by Arnold Lobel. Children will join Owl for a series of fun adventures. As audience members they will participate in the story by helping create a surprise for Owl. The show will be presented for two performances on January 27 at 9:30 am and 1 pm. Schools participating include Max Larsen, Jennings, Union City, Waldron Center and His Spot for Tots.
Wild Swan Theater is an Ann Arbor-based professional theater company focused on theatre for young people. Every year their troupe of actors and musicians travel throughout Michigan and the Midwest, providing engaging and enriching live theater experiences for children and their families. They perform in schools, libraries, museums, and theaters.
Asama Coldwater Manufacturing has teamed with Tibbits to help the theatre present its school performance series. In addition to “Owl’s Winter,” Wild Swan Theatre will also present “Under the African Sky” for second and third graders in April and “Coming to America” for fourth and fifth graders in March. In May, middle school students will enjoy a unique performance of world music featuring Victor Ghanam and Friends. Also in May, high school students will see their English lesson come to life as Michigan Shakespeare Festival presents “Romeo and Juliet.”
Through the support of Asama Tibbits is able to provide the performances for the schools at a greatly reduced fee. By the end of the series over 3000 students will have been reached including every grade through ninth in the Coldwater school district.
