St. Patrick’s Day Bash Features Professional Comedians
COLDWATER –Roars of laughter will fill the Tibbits as three professional stand-up comedians help the audience shake off their winter blues on March 17 at 7pm for Coldwater’s 5th Annual Comedy Fest, which also features a St. Patrick’s Day twist this year.
Headlining this year is Last Comic Standing finalist Michael Palascak, who grew up in the small town of Wabash, Indiana and began his comedy career in Chicago. His stand-up is clean, original, and funny. In his set, Michael makes fun of both the important and unimportant things– his parents, his way-too-honest girlfriend, Spirit Airlines, and T-Mobile. He began his network television career with performances on The Late Show with David Letterman and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno within six months of each other. His résumé has since grown to include two appearances on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, a half-hour special on the inaugural season of Comedy Central’s The Half Hour, and advancing to the Top 5 of NBC’s Last Comic Standing. In addition, Rooftop Comedy released Michael’s debut comedy album Job Opening to the digital and audio world.
The featured comic for this year’s Comedy Fest is Jim Flannigan. Over the last decade, Jim Flannigan has become a mainstay at many of the top comedy clubs around the country. Hailing from Chicago, Jim’s quick wit and smart humor have made him a favorite at colleges, comedy clubs and corporate events alike. Jim’s hilarious material has earned him a growing fan base and industry recognition, recently making his TV debut and being selected as a finalist in the 2015 World Series of Comedy.
Emceeing the show will be Dusty Slay, who walks the audience through a childhood in the trailer park and his adult years in the workforce. He thinks skunks smell like weed and leaves the serious topics like race, religion and politics up to someone who, unlike him, hasn’t drank gas out of a water hose. Slay has appeared on several network shows including NBC’s Last Comic Standing, the popular program Laughs on FOX, and he was a featured comedian on TMZ. Dusty’s comedy is regularly showcased on many nationally syndicated radio programs including Sirius XM, Pandora Radio and The Bob and Tom Radio Show.
Since this year’s Comedy Fest coincides with St. Patrick’s Day, green beer will be available at the cash bar, and ticket holders are encouraged to join the fun by wearing green or other St. Patrick’s Day apparel.
