Student Artists Wanted for Kids’ Art Rocks Art Gallery Show
COLDWATER – Student artists are encouraged to submit their artwork for the annual Kids’ Art Rocks gallery show which will be displayed at the Tibbits Opera House Art Gallery during ArtWalk.
Kids’ Art Rocks has recognized 133 pieces of student art since the program’s inception, and this year the program is looking to expand by moving to an open submission of artwork. All students currently in a K-12 curriculum are invited to submit artwork for this annual show. There is no cost to enter and students may submit one piece. Artwork must be 2-D, and can either be framed or unframed.
All appropriate art will be presented in an exhibit in Tibbits Art Gallery for students and families to enjoy. The exhibit will be juried. Pieces chosen will be professionally framed, featured at the Art Walk exhibit and reception on June 8, and entered into the art lease program for businesses to sponsor and display for one year.
“Our vision has not changed, to honor student art. Recognition of their work boosts the students’ confidence and allows their families to appreciate their talent and understand its value. For those chosen for the final exhibit and lease program, they have the added honor of seeing their art in the community and receiving it back, matted and framed and ready to adorn their own homes,” said Tibbits Executive Director Christine Delaney. She added, “We love seeing and hearing the stories and the pride they feel.”
In order to be included in this art show, please drop off all pieces to the Tibbits Administration Office on 93 W. Chicago St by April 27 at 4:30 pm. There will be a short entry form to fill out for each piece.
