COLDWATER – Twenty brave and gifted teenagers will participate in the “Spotlight on Teens” talent show at the Tibbits Opera House on Saturday, May 30 at 7PM.
The students, age 10 to 18, will sing, dance, and play musical instruments in their quest for prizes during the annual competition which is produced by the Tibbits Theatre and Beyond (T-TAB).
Some of the participants are seasoned veterans while others, like Gabriela Armstrong are competing for the very first time. “Ever since I was a little girl my mom helped me learn to sing. My nerves had gotten in the way before this year, but now I finally have the guts to get on that stage and it has opened a whole new world for me,” says Gabriela of the experience.
“We are extremely proud of both the contestants and the T-TAB members for the work that has gone into this year’s show. They are really going above and beyond to prepare an entertaining evening for the audience,” said T-TAB coordinator, Tammy Barnes.
A panel of three judges will give out cash prizes for first, second, and third place winners. Audience choice awards will also be given during Tibbits’ first ever text voting platform.
Tickets for the show are $5 and are available online and at the door the night of the performance. Proceeds from the event support T-TAB and Tibbits Opera House.
Tibbits Theatre and Beyond provides middle and high school students a chance to learn more about theatre through workshops, hands-on experience, performance, and the production of the annual talent show.
