Tibbits to Host Regional Theatre Meeting

COLDWATER – Tibbits Opera House happily hosts a meeting of the historic venues in the Michigan, Indiana and Ohio region Thursday, May 23 to network and discuss topics relevant to the industry.
The informal gathering was established with the goal of meeting peers in the industry to discuss common issues and share ideas and opportunities. The first such meeting was held last September at the Embassy Theatre in Fort Wayne, IN.
The meeting begins at 10 am and includes a panel discussion relative to fundraising and funding sources for theatres. The afternoon includes a nuts and bolts session for the open exchange of ideas and issues affecting theatres. The idea, according to Tibbits Executive Director Christine Delaney, is to collaborate and help each other be successful. “We share a common mission to enrich our communities through the arts. It’s helpful to hear from other theatres what’s working or to collaborate on discussing common challenges.”
The day will offer plenty of time to network. Lunch is provided and the meeting concludes about 1:30 with optional tours of the opera house. Reservations are required and can be made on the Tibbits website under the “Buy Tickets” button. There is no fee to register but participants must include their organization name and any dietary needs in the comments section on the checkout page. The event is funded with support of The League of Historic American Theatres and the Coldwater Country Conference and Visitors Bureau.
Joining Tibbits Opera House as hosts for the event are the Embassy Theater, Fort Wayne, IN and the State Theater, Kalamazoo, MI.
