“JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT” TAKES THE STAGE
COLDWATER – Tibbits Summer Theatre lights up the stage with the energetic musical “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” July 5-7 and 11-13.
The stage explodes with music, dance and an imaginative retelling of the Biblical story of Joseph, his 11 brothers, father Jacob, and the coat of many colors. Joseph has a gift of explaining people’s dreams. Out of jealousy his brothers sell him into slavery. After successfully interpreting the pharaoh’s dream and predicting a famine, Joseph becomes the pharaoh’s advisor. When famine hits, Joseph’s brothers come to him for relief but must first prove they’ve changed. This enduring show is full of catchy songs in a variety of styles, from show-stopper to country to calypso, along with the unforgettable classics “Any Dream Will Do” and “Close Every Door.”
With music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice, “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” is directed and choreographed by Dougie Robbins with music direction by Lisa Lawrence. The cast is comprised of Sean Noonan as Jacob, David Ossman as Joseph, Peter Riopelle as Pharaoh, Chad Tallon as Potipher and Erica Malachowski as the narrator. Additionally, the children’s chorus consists of Coldwater natives Alison and Isabel Christopher, Lexi Galliers, Pierce Smith, and Bree Tappenden.
