Tibbits Young Audiences’ “Haphazardly Ever After” Full of Fairy-Tale Fun

Tibbits Young Audiences will present mixed up fairy tale fun with their fall play “Haphazardly Ever After” Oct. 20-22 at Tibbits Opera House. Tickets are currently on sale at Tibbits.org.

COLDWATER – Enjoy all the mixed up fairy tale fun with a fairy godmother, a royal therapist, the royal family, and a do-it-yourself magic spell gone wrong with Tibbits Young Audiences’ fall play “Haphazardly Ever After” Oct. 20-22 at Tibbits Opera House.

In this fractured fairy tale farce by Jeff Fluharty, a kind king and queen have trouble in their royal family — four obnoxious, bratty, adult children who do not live up to their royal titles. There’s the mean Princess Cinnamon, the not-so-bright Princess Peppermint, the vain Prince Hairgel, and Prince Slacker, who thinks being a prince is just way, way too hard. The king and queen try everything to bring happiness and harmony to their family. Of course, nothing goes as planned, but everyone is changed by their experiences. Through a series of haphazard events, the royal family just might live happily ever after, after all.

The cast is made up of 25 students and includes cast members from Bronson, Coldwater, Quincy, Union City and even Angola, IN. Cast members include Ashlyn Abrey as Princess Cinnamon, Kennedy Austin as Narrator, Adeline Bain as Royal Therapist/Magic Mirror, Henry Case as Prince Chowder/Sorcerer/Eddie, Emmy Findley-Kyser as Princess Ambrosia/Genie, Maddy Findley-Kyser as Royal Teacher One/Bridesmaid, Annabelle Foster as Cranberry’s Assistant/Roe, Gemma Johnson as Fairy One, Sierra LaFountain as Paige, Sydney Lawrence as Fairy Two, Skylar Leson as Princess Peppermint, Azurae Long as Fairy Godmother/Fairy Tale Inspector, Keeley Love as Stage Crew/Bridesmaid, Cora Mayer as Poe, Libbie Mello as Witch/Godmother’s Apprentice, Kenna Niedzwiecki as Royal Teacher Two/Phone Operator/Mysterious Old Man, Mason Odisher as Servant Two, Zianna Rathburn     as Stage Crew/Bridesmaid, Madeline Reeves as Queen Mildred, Milo Reeves as Reluctant Fairy, Micailan Reynolds as Servant One, Paul Sharp as Prince Hairgel, Pierce Smith as King Barnabas, Bethany Uetrecht as Moe/Duke of Cranberry, and Bereket Wischmeyer as Prince Slacker.

“Haphazardly Ever After” is generously sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Coldwater. Jayne Lillis serves as director with Tirsha Odisher as producer. Jeff Harvey and London Elkins, TYA alumni, serve as assistant stage managers. Laura Odom designed costumes with assistance from Curtis Odom, with set design by Leon Kriser, props by Stacy Guertler, assistant props by Julia Littley, and makeup design by Abby Austin.

Tibbits Young Audiences offers programs both for and by area youth to develop their interest in the arts. Two shows yearly, a non-musical in the fall and a musical in the spring, provide students an enjoyable introduction to the world of theatre. By putting on a show, they learn teamwork, discipline, theatre skills, self-confidence and an appreciation for the arts.

“Haphazardly Ever After” will run Oct. 20-22 at 7pm. Doors will open 30 minutes prior to the event. Reserved seating tickets are $10 each. Tickets are available online at Tibbits.org, at the Tibbits Administration Office located at 93 W. Chicago Street, and at the door. All shows will be held at Tibbits Opera House, 14 South Hanchett Street, Coldwater, Mich. Concessions including a cash bar will be available. Tibbits Young Audiences Announces Auditions for “Haphazardly Ever After”

COLDWATER – Tibbits Young Audiences will hold auditions for its fall play “Haphazardly Ever After” on August 24 and 25 at 5pm at Tibbits Opera House.

In this fractured fairy tale farce by Jeff Fluharty, a kind king and queen have trouble in their royal family — four obnoxious, bratty, adult children who do not live up to their royal titles. Auditions are open to any student in fourth through eighth grades. Students should bring a current, non-returnable photo, their completed audition form, and be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Students will audition in groups of five and will be asked to introduce themselves from stage and read parts from the script.

Audition forms and the part of the script the auditionees will be reading are available online at Tibbits.org. Rehearsals will begin September 6, 2022 and will be held Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-6:30; not all roles meet all days. The show will be presented Oct. 20-22 at 7 pm at Tibbits.

““Haphazardly Ever After” will be directed by Jayne Lillis and produced by Tirsha Odisher. This production is generously sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Coldwater. Students involved will learn characterization, blocking, costuming, makeup and all aspects of a stage production.

Who: Students grades 6-12 who are committed to participating in at least three T-TAB (Tibbits Theatre and Beyond) sponsored activities each year.

What: Join us for our kickoff meeting and pizza party! A $10 annual due from each member supports refreshments at group parties.

When: August 24 at 4pm at the theatre.

Why: Members of T-TAB receive experience in performing, producing, working behind the scenes, and promoting the fine arts. The programs also develop skills in teamwork, discipline, self-confidence, self-esteem, and self-expression.
