Arts Alive Releases 2024 Art Gallery Show Themes

COLDWATER – From photography and paintings to sculptures and multimedia, from glitter to grunge, artists of all mediums are invited to enter their creative pieces in Arts Alive’s upcoming gallery exhibits at Tibbits Opera House.

Gallery shows for 2024 open for submissions by the public include “Oodles of Doodles,” “Into the Woods,” “Kids Art Rocks,” “Nothing Rhymes with Orange,” “Glory Days/Daze,” and “142 Years of Tibbits Opera House”. Artists may interpret the theme any way they see fit. Artists at any skill level and working with any medium may enter up to three pieces per show at $5 per submission. Paintings, photographs or drawings should be ready to hang using hanging wire. Sculptures and other mediums are accepted and encouraged as well.  Entries will be eligible for People’s Choice cash prizes and may be sold on commission with the artist’s permission.

Artists should drop off all pieces at Tibbits’ Administration Office at 93 West Chicago Street, Coldwater, Michigan

The current gallery show “Oodles of Doodles” will be displayed through Monday, March 4 in the lower level art gallery at the historic Tibbits Opera House, located at 14 South Hanchett Street in Coldwater, Michigan.

“Into the Woods” will be displayed from Tuesday, March 5 through Monday, April 29.

Tibbits annual “Kids Art Rocks! Competition” is open to students K-12 and will be displayed from Tuesday, April 30 through Monday, June 24.

“Nothing Rhymes with Orange” will be displayed from Tuesday, June 25 through Monday, July 22.

“Glory Days/Daze” will be displayed on Tuesday, July 23 through Monday, September 16.

“142 Years of Tibbits Opera House” will be displayed from Tuesday, September 17 through Monday, November 11. This show will be in honor of the 142nd Birthday of Tibbits on September 21.

The final show of 2024 will be a private exhibit called “Senior Showcase” featuring the artwork of Coldwater High School seniors. It will run from Tuesday, November 12 through Friday, January 3, 2025.
