Volunteer Stars Shine Bright at Tibbits’ 2024 Volunteer Reception

COLDWATER – On April 23, Tibbits Opera House rolled out the red carpet to honor its volunteers who selflessly dedicate their time and energy to support Tibbits in countless ways. From the creative chaos backstage to the warm greetings in the lobby, volunteers bring the magic of theatre to life, and the Volunteer Reception was all about saying a heartfelt thank you to every single one of them.

Among the stars of the evening were the Knights of Columbus, whose dedication shone bright with a remarkable 288 hours of service during an intense eight weeks of Tibbits Summer Theatre. Their tireless efforts behind the scenes left a lasting impact on both performers and audiences alike. Dave Coyle and Chance Murdock graciously accepted the award on behalf of the Knights of Columbus, embodying the spirit of community and service.

Youth volunteers also took center stage, with Jeffrey Harvey stealing the show with an astounding 738.5 hours of service this year alone! Jeffrey’s lifelong commitment and talent dazzled audiences in 18 Tibbits Young Audiences shows as an actor, while also earning 11 Summer Theatre professional credits. Not content with just the spotlight, Jeffrey also lent his expertise as a student stage manager, proving that age is no barrier to making a significant impact.

But the spotlight didn’t dim there. Bill Trebilcock lit up the room with his dedication, clocking in an impressive 173 hours this year alone. A familiar face at 69 events, Bill’s total volunteer hours soared to 480 in just three years. From ushering to gardening, driving, distributing flyers, and even meticulously folding and mailing letters, Bill’s versatility and tireless enthusiasm exemplify the spirit of volunteerism at Tibbits Opera House.

Amidst the laughter and applause, guests were transported to the nostalgic world of Forever Plaid, the theme of the evening that set the stage for a memorable celebration. The harmonious melodies and timeless charm of this beloved production echoed through the room, foreshadowing the excitement to come as Tibbits prepares to kick off the 2024 Summer Theatre season with Forever Plaid taking center stage on June 13.

As the curtain closed on the evening’s festivities, the message was clear: volunteers are the heartbeat of Tibbits, infusing every performance and event with their passion and dedication. Their selfless contributions make every moment on the stage unforgettable, and we couldn’t be more grateful. Here’s to another year of magic, laughter, and unforgettable memories, all made possible by these incredible volunteers.
