Arts Alive Releases 2020 Art Gallery Show Themes

COLDWATER – “Victorian Reflection,” the January exhibit by Arts Alive celebrates a bygone era in what ever way artists wish to interpret it and organizers invite artists in all medium to participate.

The exhibit runs January 10 through March 6, 2020 at Tibbits Opera House. Artists may submit up to three pieces at $5 per submission. Paintings, photographs or drawings should be ready to hang using hanging wire. Sculpture or other mediums are accepted and encouraged as well. While the theme is “Victorian Reflection” it is totally up to the artist to interpret the theme as he/she sees fit.

Arts Alive 2020 gallery show list
Arts Alive is calling all artists to participate in their “Victorian Reflection” gallery show, which will be displayed at Tibbits Opera House from January through early March. “Home for the Holidays” is currently displayed in the gallery.

“The great thing about each of our gallery shows is that the themes allow for a variety of interpretations,” said Stephanie Burdick, Arts Alive board member. “With this show, one artist might immediately think of Victorian architecture, while another might lean toward costume designs or renderings, while another still might play off the word ‘reflection’ and choose to use mirrors or the like,” she added.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the top artists based on audience votes.  Artists can also sell their work on commission.

To be included in this art show, artists should drop off all pieces at Tibbits’ Administration Office on 93 W. Chicago St before January 10 at 4:30 pm. “Victorian Reflection” will be displayed at Tibbits until March 6.

The art gallery currently features artwork by area artists who submitted pieces for “Home for the Holidays.” During winter, the art gallery is open by appointment, one hour prior to all events held at Tibbits, and during those events. There is no admission charge for the gallery and visitors are encouraged to vote for their favorite artwork.

The gallery shows rotate approximately every six weeks. Along with two private exhibits, other themes for the 2020 gallery shows include “Kids Art Rocks!” “Once Upon a Time,” “A Chair Affair,” and “Holiday Leftovers.” For dates and details of these exhibits, or to become involved in Arts Alive, call Steph at Tibbits at 517-278-6029, email or visit the Arts Alive facebook page at
