Talented Teens Prepare to Entertain
COLDWATER – Tibbits held auditions for its Spotlight on Teen Talent show a few weeks ago, attracting a variety of performers to the stage. Those selected to participate in the show will perform for the public on Saturday, April 28 at 7:00 p.m.
The students, ages 11 to 18, will sing, dance, and perform as they showcase their skills and compete for prizes during the annual competition, which is produced by Tibbits Theatre and Beyond (T-TAB). T-TAB produces the show as a way to give youngsters experience in the many facets of theatre including behind-the-scenes production, lighting, and sound. The group also provides middle and high school students with opportunities throughout the year to assist on stage productions, attend workshops, and promote activities at the theatre.
T-TAB director Kaitlyn Colyer explains, “The Teen Talent Show allows so many young artists the chance to get real performing arts experience and feedback. Teens from all over Branch County are able to express themselves and really hone their talent. I am so grateful to be directing a show that has such a positive impact on the youth in our community.”
Spotlight on Teen Talent will take place at the historic Tibbits Opera House, located at 14 S. Hanchett St in Coldwater, MI. Tickets for the show can be purchased at the door on the night of the event for $5 when paying by cash/check, or $7 when paying by credit card.
