COLDWATER – Coldwater High School’s Amelia Gerth won the first-place title and prize money for Tibbits Theatre and Beyond’s 15th annual Spotlight on Teen Talent Show.

Gerth, who also won the High Tech Audience Choice Award, played Morceau de Concors (Competition Piece) by G. Alary on the trumpet and was accompanied on the piano by Justine Hostetler. The second-place winner was Mae Blansit dancing “The Napoleon Dynamite Dance” from the movie Napoleon Dynamite. Chloe Tritchka-Stuchell took third place with Rondo Capriccioso Opus 14 by Felix Mendelssohn on piano. The Traditional Audience Choice Award went to Adelle Tackett, who sang Little Wonders by Rob Thomas, with special judges’ awards for Most Creative Act going to Connor Wolverton for playing Mama’s Favorite, an original piece, and Best Use of Costume or Prop to Crysta McGlothan and Macie Brown who danced to Look What You Made Me Do by Taylor Swift.

The Spotlight on Teen Talent Show is a project of Tibbits Theatre and Beyond, or T-TAB, a group of middle and high school students who enjoy theatre. The group strives to learn more about theatre through workshops, hands on experience, performance, and producing their own show. T-TAB member Kaitlyn Colyer directed the show, Ella Budd produced, and Budd emceed with Lexi Galliers. Galliers also performed the skit The Plot to Assassinate the Chase Manhatten Bank with fellow T-TAB members Bianca Hubbard, Owen Needham, and Sarah Forrister, while judges Ken Norton, Abby Donbrock, and Sarah Odom deliberated and audience votes were tallied.

Other T-TAB members filling various production and stage crew roles include Corrin Cook, Shaun Coleman, Lydia Kaniewski, Ian Hollingsworth, Conner Kaniewski, Gunnar Cornwell, Linzy Monks, Kaitlyn Colyer, Jillian McKinley, and Julia Kirk.

The group’s next activity will be the 10-Day Film Contest held in June. Any student who would like information on joining T-TAB can call Tirsha at the Tibbits at (517) 278-6029, email boxoffice@Tibbits.org, or visit the website at www.Tibbits.org.
