Tibbits Names Linda Bowers January Volunteer of the Month
COLDWATER – From gardening to decorating the theatre for Christmas to taking tickets and assisting with mailings, volunteer newcomer Linda Bowers has been named Tibbits’ January volunteer of the month for her fast submersion into the fabric of the historic theatre.
Though she is a Coldwater native, Bowers only became involved in Tibbits a year ago after retiring from a career in nursing in 2020. She and her husband Cliff grew up and met in Coldwater. “Coldwater is a community that understands the importance of education, culture and support. We saw these community attributes amplified as we raised our two children, Cliff and Sonya here,” she said.

Along with volunteering at Tibbits, being retired has allowed Bowers to pursue personal interests such as gardening, reading, crafting, decorating for holidays and spending time with family and friends.
Bowers loves volunteering for Tibbits, saying, “Tibbits is a treasured gem within our community. The staff is exceptional and easy to work with. By volunteering at Tibbits I have learned that there is a place where I can hone my interest and talents while giving back to a community that has given my family so much.”
In recognition for her service, Bowers has been awarded a $25 Coldwater Area Chamber of Commerce debit card. The Volunteer of the Month is chosen based on hours, service, management, and any special talents or experience they may offer. The decision may depend upon a particular event or project, or for general support for the theatre and the performing arts.
Tibbits welcomes volunteers in theatre roles including ushering, working at the Ghost Light Bar, assisting in the office, sorting archival materials, decorating, and much more.
