TIBBITS POPCORN THEATRE OPENS WITH THE LAST OF THE DRAGONS!

COLDWATER – Immerse yourself in the magical world of The Last of the Dragons, the first production in the 2018 Tibbits Popcorn Theatre Season showing June 22-23 & 29-30 at 10am at the historic Tibbits Opera House.
This imaginative and original tale written by Kristin Walter is based upon the original story of Edith Nesbit. Tradition dictates that on her 16th birthday, a princess must be rescued from a ferocious dragon, but in the Kingdom of Middlefield, there is a prince too afraid to fight, a princess who wants to rescue herself, and a dragon nowhere to be found. This show is a tale of bravery, intelligence and unexpected friendship.
Making up the cast of The Last of the Dragons are professional actors Caroline Anderson as the dragon, Max Gonzales as the prince, Hope Pauly as the princess, Josh Vreeland as the king, Emma Driver as the nurse, and Ben Shimkus as the valet.
The show is directed by Tibbits artistic director Charles Burr. The design staff features set design by Leon Kriser, costume design by Marie Green, props/audio visual design by Tyler Powell, sound design by Charles Burr and Nadalie Gill, and lighting design by Alyssa Kraft.
Tibbits Popcorn Theatre is ideal summer entertainment for the entire family and a great way for kids to be introduced to live theatre. Children are given the opportunity to experience theatre that is created “just for them” and performed by the professionals of the Tibbits Summer Theatre company. After each performance, audience members have the opportunity to have their programs signed or take pictures with the cast during a meet-and-greet.
All Tibbits Popcorn Theatre presentations show Friday and Saturdays at 10am. Patrons will be treated to free popcorn and juice at intermission.
The presentation of The Last of the Dragons is sponsored by the Coldwater Exchange Club. The popcorn is donated by Ed Lake with juice donated by McDonald’s-The Maynard Organization. Popcorn Theatre is also made possible through the generosity of Dr. Jon and Seibra Herbner.
