Tibbits Summer Theatre Nominated for Two Wilde Awards
COLDWATER– Tibbits Summer Theatre has once again been nominated for Encore MI’s Wilde Awards, Michigan’s professional theatre equivalent of the Tony Awards.
Each August, Encore MI recognizes the best performances and productions of the previous season. This year’s Wilde Awards ceremony is scheduled for August 26th at The Hilberry Theatre in Detroit.
The 2018 Tibbits Summer Theatre performance of “A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder” has been nominated for two awards. Along with a nomination for Best Musical, Tibbits company member Brian Sage has been nominated as Best Supporting Actor in Musical.
Tibbits Summer Theatre has an outstanding reputation for their professional summer stock company; USA Today even called Tibbits Summer Theatre one of “10 great places to see the lights way off Broadway.”
Tibbits Summer Theatre’s 2019 season opens June 20 with Ken Ludwig’s “Be My Baby” through June 29. It continues by showcasing the musicals “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” July 5-13 and “West Side Story” from July 25-Aug 3. While the main season closes with the hilarious farce “See How They Run” Aug 8-17, the professional company will also present the powerful musical “Next to Normal” Sept. 6 -14.
