COLDWATER – Cast members of Tibbits Young Audiences musical Tied to the Tracks are ready to show off months of hard work when they take to the stage March 23 and 24 at 7pm and March 25 at 2pm at Tibbits Opera House.
Tied to the Tracks will leave you tied up in knots...of laughter! This action-packed old time musical western melodrama follows the story of stalwart Sheriff Billy Bold and the delicate Dakota Melody as they resist the evil machinations of Silias Scavenger and Wild Prairie Rose in this shoot-’em-up, round-’em-up extravaganza. The audience will be hitched to their seats as they are powerless in helping the beloved heroine, bound to a railway track, as she helplessly watches a locomotive race towards her. Only one man can snatch her from this unworthy fate and bring justice to a thriving territory!
The cast is made up of 49 students fourth through eighth grades and includes cast members from Coldwater, Quincy, Union City, Athens, Tekonsha, and even Angola, IN. Castmembers include Lexi Galliers (Dakota Melody), Ryan Smith (Billy Bold), Colton LaFountain (Bellboy), Shaun Coleman (Rufus Clang), Ian Hollingsworth (Professor Silias), Lauren Teeple (Mrs. Bradman), Bianca Hubbard (Mrs. Cornish), Rachel Rutz (Mrs. Hedgepeth), Abigail Needham (Mrs. Musgrove), and Faith Miller (Mrs. Riggs). Farm boys include Malachi Payne, Connor Wolverton, Conner Kaniewski, Dane Pickell, Gunnar Cornwell, Devin Dosier, Lexis Harris, Chase D'water. Farm girls consist of Brianna Barle, Lily Witmer, Isabel Christopher, Kailey Bond, Kendra Bills, Matilda Hampton, Addison Fore, and Elizabeth Rogovich. Harvey Girls include Katherine Rogovich, Mackenzie Searing, Molly Foster, Alison Turner, Corrin Cook, and Ivy Witmer. Medicine Show Troupers include Julia Kirk, Madelynn Payne, Anna-Marie Vorce, Jezzie D’water, Londyn Hollingsworth, Abby Robison, Kaylynn Drumm, Jeffrey Harvey, Lydia Kaniewski, and McKinley Kirk. The Outlaw Gang consists of Alex Stewart, London Elkins, Sonya Vorce, Joel Miller, Logan Foster, Lily Roscoe, and Micah Lee.
Tied to the Tracks is directed by Allison Harvey and Julia Littley, choreographed by Julia Littley, and produced by Tirsha Odisher, with musical direction by Kathleen Farrand. Tibbits Young Audiences offers programs both for and by area youth to develop their interest in the arts. Two shows yearly, a non-musical in the fall and a musical in the spring, provide students an enjoyable introduction to the world of theatre. By putting on a show, they learn teamwork, discipline, theatre skills, self confidence and an appreciation for the arts.
All shows will be held at Tibbits Opera House, 14 South Hanchett Street, Coldwater, Mich. All tickets are general admission. Tickets are available from cast members, at the door, or online. Tickets are $5 each, but all online and credit card purchases have an additional $2 processing fee per ticket.
