Top Three Rotary Splash Pad Mural Designs Up for Public Vote
COLDWATER – The mural project for the Rotary Splash Pad at Heritage Park has been narrowed to three designs and now seeks community input.
The public is encouraged to vote on their favorite design in person at the Tibbits Opera House, the Tibbits Administrative Offices, or at the City of Coldwater or on the City’s HERE. Artists submitted their designs, which were pared down to the top three choices by the Arts Alive board members, City officials, and additional judges. The top three designs include those by Bailey Travelbee, Matt Biolchini, and Morgan Miller. Voting will be open from January 7 to February 1.
The winning design will be posted on the City’s website on February 12. Proposals are being sought for artists to recreate the winning design on the 12’ high by 80’ wide foot wall adjacent to the Rotary Splash Pad. Mural artists interested in painting this project should fill out a Public Art Request for Proposal (RFP), located at the City of Coldwater offices, or downloadable from the City’s website at coldwater.org/. Questions regarding the RFP should be directed to Keith Baker at kbaker@coldwater.org or Shauna Chavez at schavez@coldwater.org at the city of Coldwater.
The Rotary Splash Pad Mural Project is co-sponsored by the City of Coldwater and Arts Alive, a division of the Tibbits Opera Foundation. Arts Alive’s goal is to provide an outlet to facilitate education, growth, and an appreciation for arts and culture in all forms.
