Volunteers Wanted at Tibbits Opera House
Coldwater, MI – Tibbits offers a variety of exciting volunteering opportunities for those in the community interested in giving their time to the historic theatre.
In addition to live performances and entertainment, Tibbits offers volunteer opportunities to anyone who would like to get involved: usher shows, bartend events, work the concessions and gift shop, give theatre tours, help work and organize the annual fundraising events including the auction and golf outing, decorate the theatre for holidays, water and plant flowers by the theatre, or chauffer the actors that grace Tibbits’ stage. Volunteer opportunities also include working in the Tibbits administrative office helping with major projects such as bulk mailings, show brochure distribution, and general office projects.
“Our volunteers keep this theatre alive,” says Tibbits Volunteer Liason Amy Crabtree. “Without our volunteers, Tibbits would not be what it is. These people are the heart of the organization.”
On April 17, the Tibbits board and staff will recognize and show their gratitude to all of the volunteers who devote their precious time to the Tibbits organization. At this annual Volunteer Reception, Volunteers receive pins in accordance to how many hours they have worked; Some will receive special volunteer badges. There will be a catered dinner with drinks and light entertainment.
Formed in 2006, the mission of the Tibbits Boosters is to provide and coordinate volunteer support for Tibbits Opera House. Those who volunteer with Tibbits are considered active Tibbits Booster members once they have worked five hours.
Built in 1882, Tibbits Opera House is the pride of the community. Many people volunteer at Tibbits because they value the history and want to be a part of something as special as Tibbits.
